John Strate

John and his wife Kirstie both grew up in Meeker, and graduated from Meeker High School. After attending college and starting a teaching career in the south east part of the state, they returned to Meeker with their family. They recognized it truly “takes a village”, and wanted their boys to understand the value of family and community. Over the course of John’s teaching career he has earned a master’s degree from Colorado Mesa University, worked with hundreds of Meeker’s youth in the classroom, served as a track and field coach, and traveled abroad with students. John’s dedication to Meeker reaches beyond his contributions to youth. He served as a Trustee for the Town of Meeker for two terms, and is currently the president of the Eastern Rio Blanco County Metropolitan Recreation District. Being an outdoor enthusiast of all the area has to offer, makes John an excellent well rounded resource for his clients.
